Attention Star Wars fans, you might want to hold off on practicing your Ewok Celebration dance moves, because it doesn't look as if STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be revisiting the forest moon of Endor after all.
A new announcement posted to Disney Park Blogs has revealed that what a lot of people believed to be the ruins of a downed Death Star is actually a planet referred to as "the ocean moon of Kef Bir." Previously, the new edition of a Star Wars reference book, titled Ultimate Star Wars, revealed that Kef Bir is the home planet of Naomi Ackie’s character Jannah.
While Kef Bir has yet to appear canonically until the December release of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, rumors about the location being a sibling moon to the forest moon of Endor are already making the rounds. According to Star Wars lore, Endor is a gas giant that boasts nine moons orbiting around its mass. Could it be that a celestial push and pull is what caused the Death Star wreckage to land nearby? After all, gravity is a risky business, even in a galaxy far, far away.
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell, Billie Lourd, Richard E. Grant, and Joonas Suotamo, in addition to franchise veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, and Ian McDiarmid.
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
