Star Wars rumors: Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff & details on Episode VII villains

I know many of you are probably sick of Star Wars rumors, but Making Star Wars has a couple of new interesting ones about a possible standalone movie featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the villains for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.

Sources have told the site an Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff might be in the works. They say "for the spin-off movies they were initially going to stay away from any Jedi or Sith characters," however a Kenobi movie is now being developed because of the popularity of the character. Obi-Wan Kenobi was voted one of the best Star Wars characters of all time in a recent poll on the official site, apparently an "art team is now working with a writer on concepts for an Obi-Wan movie." Are you interested in seeing an Obi-Wan spinoff, and if so, when do you think it should take place? Maybe between the events of the third and fourth films in the series?

Some might consider this second rumor to be a spoiler, so just in case…

Making Star War's source is also claiming at least one of the villains in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII might be related to Count Dooku.

Here's what they have to say:

And the recent Adam Driver rumor – Benedict Cumberbatch, Gwendoline Christie, the Count Dooku connection, and now the Driver rumors. These are all based on that central idea of an aristocratic family ‘line’ involving Episode 7’s bad guys. And as I said before, I firmly believe its the line of Dooku. Details and characters might have changed but the idea of an aristocratic villain with a heritage going back to the Clone Wars has been there from pre-production and as far as I know it’s still a major part of the story.

Think there's any truth to these rumors? Sound off below!

J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will be in theaters on December 18, 2015.
