The STAR WARS train just keeps on truckin'! Looks like the production of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII has settled on a familiar location to film the next entry in the series. Home to Harry Potter, The Beatles, and James Bond, the next installment of the STAR WARS franchise will go before lenses in The United Kingdom, where producer Kathleen Kennedy feels right at home, saying:
"We've devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I'm thrilled that returning to the UK for production and utilizing the incredible talent there can be a part of that," Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, said in statement. "Speaking from my own longstanding connection to the UK with films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire of the Sun and recently War Horse, it's very exciting to be heading back."
So, all you Brits out there now have a leg up on us Yankees, as you are the eyes and ears of spoiler territory for the next decade or so, or until they change locations for the planned one-a-year movie franchise. You lucky bastards! Of course this isn’t that big of a surprise, considering all of the previous STAR WARS films were shot in the U.K. as well.
Now that they've settled on a location for J.J. Abrams venture into a galaxy far, far away, I'm ready for some damn casting news. Who's with me??
STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is slated to revitalize your childhood sometime in 2015.
