When are we going to learn the title of STAR WARS: EPISODE IX and when will we see the first teaser for STAR WARS: EPISODE IX? Well, the answer to both those questions could be April 12, 2019, which is when a panel for the upcoming film will take place at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.
Announced during the most recent episode of The Star Wars Show, it seems that the STAR WARS: EPISODE IX panel will find director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy taking to the stage to present a panel "full of surprises and special guests." The celebration will take place from April 11-15th at McCormick Place. Although there's no official confirmation that the title and/or trailer will debut at Star Wars Celebration, it's probably a safe bet that one or both will be; after all, the first teaser for STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI was also released at Star Wars Celebration back in 2017. If this is indeed the case, we'll likely be in the midst of dissecting the first EPISODE IX this time next month. Fingers crossed.
STAR WARS: EPISODE IX will be the much-anticipated finale to the Sequel Trilogy, bringing an end to not only the stories of Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe (Oscar Isaac), but also serving as a conclusion to the entire Skywalker saga which began over forty years ago. Oscar Isaac recently said as much while appearing on The Today Show.
It is the end of the entire Skywalker saga. Nine stories. This is the culmination of the thing. I think what J.J. [Abrams] has done, and really the whole Lucasfilm team, is going to be incredibly fulfilling. It’s also special for us because you get to learn a lot more new things about these characters.
STAR WARS: EPISODE IX will hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
