This year's Star Wars Celebration is officially in full-swing and our own Editor-in-Chief Paul Shirey is in attendance to report on all the stellar surprises of the event. Yesterday as their way of kicking the big show into high gear, Disney announced a myriad of details related to their upcoming streaming service Disney+. Among the major headlines from the reveal was word that the subscription-based platform will be made available on November 12, 2019 – for the low cost of just $6.99. Customers will also be given the option of going full-mouse with a yearly subscription for $69.99, which would save you roughly $14 a year. Beyond pricing, intentions for the service, and a glimpse into what will be made available on Day 1, Disney also detailed a few of the shows set to make their way to the service.

Star Wars, Episode IX, Star Wars Celebration

We'll get to the Marvel shows in just a moment, but not before I mention that a TV series based on THE SANDLOT is now in early development for Disney+. Oh sure, we've known about the project since last month, but it's always nice to hear the official word on potentially promising projects, wouldn't you agree? Here's hoping that Disney really swings for the fences with this update to the classic family film. In addition to THE SANDLOT home run, Disney+ announced that every episode of THE SIMPSONS will be made available on the service as well. The House of Mouse also revealed some of their Marvel plans for the streamer, including the title for their upcoming Scarlet Witch and Vision series – now titled WANDAVISION. The studio also confirmed FALCON AND WINTER SOLIDER, starring Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) as odd couple crime fighters.

There's lots more, but let's get real, folks. You're here for the STAR WARS: EPISODE IX deets! The panel will be starting momentarily, but in the meantime, let's do a quick recap of the basics. The latest chapter of the Skywalker Saga is directed by STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS helmer J.J. Abrams. The LOST and SUPER 8 creative also wrote the script alongside Chris Terrio, with Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly serving as co-writers. Set to star in the highly-anticipated final chapter of the saga from a galaxy far, far away are Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, John Boyega as Finn, Lupita Nyongo'o as Maz Kanata, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, and Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa (using archived footage), among others.

Alright, Star Wars fans, it's game time! Don't forget that you can also follow along using our official JoBlo Twitter account:
