Stallone’s latest Rambo: Last Blood image comes with a new trailer tease

Sylvester Stallone has uploaded a rather nostalgic teaser image for RAMBO: LAST BLOOD to his personal Instagram account, featuring a young John Rambo emerging from the trees and looking to get stabby. Below the throwback image to the character's 1982 film, FIRST BLOOD, we find a new still hailing from the final chapter of the RAMBO saga, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD. Additionally, as cool as new promotional materials are, Stallone also teased that a new trailer for the upcoming installment will arrive on Tuesday, August 20. If that's not enough to get your blood pumping, just take a look at the size of Rambo's Bowie knife in both images. Now imagine the hard boiled vet holding that bad boy to your throat, then whispering the words "When you hurt a man's family, you just dug your own grave." Ugh! I've got chills. Literal chills.

Heres' the logline for RAMBO: LAST BLOOD:

When the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo (Stallone) — who has been working on a ranch — crosses the U.S.-Mexico border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.

Billed as Stallone's final turn as John Rambo, the hardened Italian and Navajo-born Vietnam veteran, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD stars  Paz Vega, Oscar Jaenada, Louis Mandylor, Joaquin Cosio, Yvette Monreal, Adriana Carraza, Jessica Madsen, and Sergio Peris-Mencheta, among several others.

With regard to this being Stallone's last Rambo-related film, the Italian Stallion recently said that he's not about calling his projects the "last" of anything. In fact, while speaking outside this year's Cannes Film Festival, Stallone had this to say about Last Blood being his final turn as the classic action character:

"Let me just say something about the "last" of anything. I thought Rocky 3 was the last, you know. So I don't know anything. If it works I'll just keep going, you know, because I enjoy it so much."

Aw yeah! Give me GRANDPA RAMBO: FIRST CATHETER. Heh. You laugh, but you know you'd watch it. I can see it all now, John smashing an enemy soldier who sneaks into the old folks home over the head with a steel bed pan, then choking him out with an IV line. "The Grim Reaper comes for us all, and today, he comes for you, sonny."

My silly pipe dream aside, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD will wage war on the box office and in theaters beginning on September 20.
