We've been hearing rumors here and there that a fourth entry in THE EXPENDABLES franchise is in the making and today we finally have a new update. Today we have word that Stallone was evidently inspired by the fourth of July to begin "cooking up" THE EXPENDABLES 4.
Stallone writes:
All of those July 4th Fireworks got my mind going! I am starting to cook up The next adventure!
Check out the post below.
Along with Stallone, the EXPENDABLES series has featured such stars as Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Liam Hemsworth, Yu Nan, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz, Kelsey Grammer, and Mel Gibson.
The last time we saw The Expendables on the big screen was back in August 2014 with the release of THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD director Patrick Hughes' THE EXPENDABLES 3. While not a terrible entry in the franchise, the third installment went PG-13 on our asses, so here's hoping the planned fourth adventure returns the series back to the land of hard-R action.
THE EXPENDABLES 3 followed this synopsis:
Years ago, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) co-founded the Expendables with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). After Stonebanks became an arms dealer, Ross was forced to kill him — or so he thought. Now, Stonebanks is back and he's on a mission to end the Expendables. Ross decides that the way to fight old blood is with new blood, so he assembles a team of younger, faster, more tech-savvy recruits. The battle to topple Stonebanks becomes a clash of old-school methods vs. high-tech expertise.
