Stallone says he’s cooking up another Expendables adventure!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

With the smell of hot dogs, beach breezes, and bonfires still wafting through the atmosphere, it would appear as if this year's Fourth of July celebration has sparked Sylvester Stallone's creativity, because recently the box office behemoth shared that he's cooking up ideas for a new film in THE EXPENDABLES franchise.

You can view Stallone's Instagram post below, where he teased the liklihood of developing another chapter of the guns, grunts, and glory franchise:

All of those July 4th Fireworks got my mind going! I am starting to cook up The next adventure!

When THE EXPENDABLES burst onto the scene in August of 2010, the balls-to-the-wall action thriller starring Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Giselle Itie, with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger grossed $274.4 million at the worldwide box office. The franchise went on to yield two sequels – THE EXPENDABLES 2: BACK FOR WAR ($314.9 million) and THE EXPENDABLES 3 ($214.6) – with rumors of a female-led version of the franchise having come and gone.

With each installment, THE EXPENDABLES brand has invited some of Hollywood's most legendary badasses into the fray, such as Wesley Snipes, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, and Mel Gibson, just to name a few.

For now, Stallone is simply teasing the idea of him beginning work on another chapter, so there's no telling who could be asked to star in the propsoed sequel. My money is on Donnie Yen, Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, and perhaps Keanu Reeves being asked to participate.
