Spoilers: Details on Doctor Strange’s post-credit sequences revealed

In case the headline didn't clue you in, this post will include major spoilers for DOCTOR STRANGE. So if you're hoping to head to the theater next month to watch Marvel's latest without knowing how it will all wrap up, it's probably best to avoid what follows. By now we've all become accustomed to Marvel's tradition of dropping a post-credit sequence (sometimes more than one) at the close of each of their movies, and the upcoming DOCTOR STRANGE will be no exception. The folks over at ScreenCrush have put together a detailed description of both sequences, (yes, there will be two), and, if true, they will certainly set up major events to come in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

By the end of DOCTOR STRANGE, the good doctor has "made it his mission to rid our world of mystical threats — which includes a certain mischievous Asgardian." In the mid-credit sequence Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has invited Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to his Sanctum Sanctorum (you'll recall those set photos from earlier this summer) in order to discuss Loki (Tom Hiddleston). As Thor needs his brother's help in locating Odin (Anthony Hopkins), he comes to an agreement with Dr. Strange.

Strange agrees to help Thor locate Loki and Odin under one condition: Once found, they must leave Earth and return to Asgard — for good. Thor accepts his offer, setting the stage for Ragnarok, which takes place almost entirely in the outer realms.

Cue the credits rolling for a while longer and the DOCTOR STRANGE post-credit sequence kicks off with a callback to an earlier scene from the film. At some point during DOCTOR STRANGE we will meet a character played by Benjamin Bratt who has been able to use the mystical arts in order to heal his paralysis. The post-credit scene picks back up with Bratt's character as he encounters Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who violently rips out and absorbs his mystical powers before commenting that "there are too many sorcerers."

Mordo spends much of the film as Strange’s ally and a devout student of The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), but he’s clearly furious that Strange was named Sorcerer Supreme. That envy and resentment leads Mordo to becoming evil in the film’s post-credits scene.

DOCTOR STRANGE will hit theaters on November 4, 2016.
