The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer finally arrived yesterday, and although it was full of plenty of surprises, we apparently haven’t seen anything yet. Over the past year, we’ve heard plenty of rumblings regarding past Spider-Man characters returning for the new film, and the trailer certainly ended with a bang in that regard when none other than Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 emerged to confront Spidey.
Tom Holland took to Instagram earlier today to discuss the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, where he teased that we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what the movie has in store for us.
I’m at the airport. I’ve been flying for the last 10 hours, so I actually didn’t actually post the trailer. My brother, Harry, did, so I haven’t been able to see the reactions and how excited everyone is. I’ve just landed, so I turned my phone on, and my phone has gone mental. The love and support you guys have shown for the film is so exciting. Honestly, that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Holland continued, “You have no idea what else is to come. I’m so excited to share more with you guys and it feels so good. It feels so good to be back with Spider-Man, to be showing you trailers, to have films coming out…this is so exciting. I love you all. Thank you for your support, and enjoy the trailer!” If even half the rumours surrounding the film turn out to be true, we’ll be in for quite the trip down the Spider-Verse tunnel. “For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero,” reads the official synopsis. “When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.“
Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
