Well, that didn't take long. Fresh off the news that Disney was delaying AVATAR 2 (again) from December 17th, 2021 to December 16th, 2022 comes the news that Sony's grabbing the discarded release date as a launching pad for their SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME sequel. With the so-far untitled third film in the MCU Spider-Man continuity now set for December 17th, 2021, it looks like Tom Holland's Spider-Man is assured something of a box office bonanza, as folks like big, four-quadrant event movies like this over the holidays. Still, it's not much of a leap, as the film was previously set to bow November 5th, 2021.
In addition to this, Sony's also got SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE 2 slated for October 7th, 2022, while VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE, is set for June 25th, 2021.
So far, no one knows what this third Spider-Man film will be about, but when we last left Holland's Spider-Man, he was unmasked and in big trouble! I'm pretty happy this movie's happening, as remember how close we got to Holland's Spidey being taken out of the MCU? Seems like a distant memory now, so I'm glad to see everyone's favorite web-slinger back on track.
