ALTHOUGH, allow me to stress that it’s one of those films that you really have to “go with” in order to enjoy. If you start pointing out shit that doesn’t stick and complaining about the idiotic one-liners that Michael Madsen tosses out there throughout (which cwacked me up!), then you will definitely believe me to be in my BATTLEFIELD EARTH zone again…
“This is a maternity ward….FROM HELL!!”
But if you’re not looking for existentialism a la 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, enjoyed the first SPECIES (which was in itself, a better “film” than this one), and like to see ladies swinging their can-cans around while other scenes feature bloody aliens bursting out of people’s stomachs…well, this one’s for you.
BTW, the one thing that DID piss me off about this film, other than its basic plot holes here and there, was the fact that Natasha Henstridge was BARELY in this movie!! I mean, what the f**k?!? Some no-name actor was the star of this film the whole way through and Natasha was only shown sitting around most of the time, up until the end.
Anyway, not sure why they slapped her in there as a “supporting character”, but I personally would’ve liked to have seen more of her (mind you, we get all kinds of T&A action with her near the end).
Okay, time to warm up those towellettes…
