Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar – Exclusive first look at the new trailer!

Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar, an action-packed sci-fi adventure movie from Garo Setian, director of the sci-fi thriller Automation (watch it HERE, read our review HERE), is now available on DVD and digital, and to mark the occasion a new trailer has been released that’s packed with quotes from some of the positive reviews the film has received. Setian directed the film from a screenplay by Joe Knetter (writer of Blind and Pretty Boy), based on a story Setian and Knetter crafted together. Starring Michael Pare (Streets of Fire), Olivier Gruner (Nemesis), Sarah French (Blind), Tyler Gallant (Alpha Wolf) Rachele Brooke Smith (Nightmare Shark), Anahit Setian (Automation), Jed Rowen (Pretty Boy), Elise Muller (Dolls) and Sadie Katz (Wrong Turn 6). Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar tells the story of a father-daughter team of space scavengers who must race against a band of evil mercenaries to reach the legendary treasures on board a lost mythical freighter. Their quest will force them to navigate a universe filled with giant monsters, aliens, robots and a mortal enemy seeking vengeance.

The film recently completed a theatrical run, and while making the festival rounds it three awards at the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival, including awards for Best Practical Effects, Best Stunts for lead actress Sarah French, and a Best Supporting Actress Award for Anahit Setian. Space Wars also won the Golden Marquee Award for Best Feature Film and the Outstanding Producing Award at the Zed Fest Film Festival, Gold Award for Best Sci-Fi Feature at the Hollywood Independent Filmmaker Awards and Festival, a Gold Award and Silver Award for Feature and Directing at the Hollywood Gold Awards, and an “Outstanding Performance” Award for Sarah French and Diamond Award for “Best Actor in a Sci-Fi” for Michael Pare’ at the New York Best Actor & Director Awards.

A co-production between Hungry Monster Entertainment, Millman Productions, and Ron Lee Productions, Space Wars: Quest for the DeepStar was produced by Jeff Miller, Robert Parigi, ‘Evil’ Ted Smith, Ben Stobber, Joanna Fang, Garo and Anahit Setian, Joe Knetter, Sarah French, and Bill Klinakis. Miller also executive produces alongside Ronnie D. Lee.

The film’s crew includes: Michael Su as Director of Photography, Anthony Pearce as Production Designer, Jo Anna Heckman as Costume Designer, and ‘Evil’ Ted Smith as lead prop fabricator. Steve Clarke and Paul Knott provided the visual effects, while Jeff Farley handled the practical creature FX. The score was composed by Joel Christian Goffin. Uncork’d Entertainment is handling distribution and worldwide sales.
