Space Jam: A New Legacy Scores Zendaya to voice Lola Bunny

Space Jam: A New Legacy just announced a real slam dunk! Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Euphoria) will be voicing Lola Bunny in the brand new live-action-mation (live action + annimation) sequel! Z-girl is super talented and popular right now and I believe she's going to bring a strong sense of fun and class to the animated role. If we want less of the somewhat sexualized Lola from the first Space Jam, you can't go wrong with Zendaya! Here's more from director, Malcolm D. Lee, on why he's going for a more politically correct animated bunny:

"We reworked a lot of things, not only her look, like making sure she had an appropriate length on her shorts and was feminine without being objectified, but gave her a real voice. For us, it was, let's ground her athletic prowess, her leadership skills, and make her as full a character as the others."

The sequel's plot follows LeBron James as he struggles to connect with his tech-savvy son Dom (Ceyair J. Wright), but when a CGI humanoid named Al G Rhythm (Don Cheadle) attempts to steal James’ social media followers, the two are sucked into the “Warner 3000 entertainment server-verse.” In order to save his son, James must defeat the Goon Squad — of course, with the help of the Toon Squad, which includes Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Lola Bunny, Marvin the Martian, Porky Pig, Roadrunner and the rest of the Looney Tunes. The movie hits theaters and HBO Max on July 16th.
