Pixar's SOUL recently made news when it was decided the film would be skipping theaters for a Disney+ debut on Christmas day and now we have a new trailer that showcases more of the movie and makes it known to look out for the film on Disney's streaming service.
The new trailer gives us a glimpse into the musical life of Joe Gardner, voiced by Jamie Foxx. However, due to one wrong move, Joe finds his body-less self stuck in a realm of souls ready to move on. Panicked and sure that he’s not lived his full life yet, Joe’s soul jumps out of the queue and dives into the Great Before. The pastel-tinted world that Joe is sent is where new souls get their personalities and quirks before manifesting on Earth. Soon, Joe meets the snarky, yet quick-witted 22, a new soul voiced by Tina Fey, who explains that the Great Before is nothing to worry about. As Joe begins to reflect on his life with 22, he becomes homesick for his world and enlists 22's help to return him to his family and friends.
Directed by Pete Docter, who made us cry with UP & made us realize we're all a little crazy with INSIDE OUT, the film will be Pixar's second original offering this year following the release of ONWARD earlier this year. The film also features the vocal talents of Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Wes Studi, Fortune Feimster, Zenobia Shroff, Donnell Rawlings, Phylicia Rashad, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Angela Bassett, and Daveed Diggs. The movie also features an original score from Oscar winners Trent Reznor
