Director Sophia Takal's psychological thriller ALWAYS SHINE is set to receive a limited theatrical release from Oscilloscope Laboratories on December 2nd, and today we have a trailer, a poster, and several stills from the film to help get you prepared for it.
Scripted by Lawrence Michael Levine, ALWAYS SHINE has drawn comparison to the works of Brian De Palma. The film stars Mackenzie Davis and Caitlin FitzGerald as
two friends, both actresses living in Los Angeles, who take a trip to Big Sur to re-connect. Once alone, however, the two women's suppressed jealousies and deep-seated resentments begin to rise, causing them to lose grasp not only on the true nature of their relationship, but also on their own identities in this twisted thriller about obsession, fame and femininity.
Judging by the trailer, these two are not the sort of people you'd ever want to spend much time around, but I am very interested in watching what sort of meltdown they have over the course of the movie's 85 minutes.
Davis and FitzGerald are joined in the cast by Alexander Koch, Jane Adams, and writer Levine.
