Our teenage years come packed with enough physical and emotional changes to twist your head around, but toss superpowers into that mixture, and you wind up covered in blood, apparently. Netflix has released a trailer for I Am Not Okay With This, a new series based on Charles Forsman‘s graphic novel of the same name. Sophia Lillis (IT) stars as Sydney, a jaded 15-year-old teenager who carries her share of secrets, such as the crush she has on her best friend Dina, the bizarre truth behind her father's death, as well as her telekinetic powers.
In addition to Sophia Lillis, I Am Not Okay With This also stars Wyatt Oleff (IT), Sofia Bryant (The Good Wife), and Kathleen Rose Perkins (Episodes). The series comes to us from Jonathan Entwistle, the showrunner, creator, producer, writer, and director of the Netflix's The End of the F***ing World, which also happens to be based on a graphic novel by Charles Forsman.
The official synopsis for I Am Not Okay With This:
Sydney seems like a normal 15-year-old freshman. She hangs out underneath the bleachers, listens to music in her friend’s car, and gets into arguments with her annoying little brother but she also has a few secrets she’s only shared in her diary. Like how she’s in love with her best friend Dina, the bizarreness of her father’s death, and those painful telekinetic powers that keep popping up at the most inopportune times.
I Am Not Okay With This will debut on Netflix on February 26th.
