Sony picks up JJ Abrams-produced mystery sci-fi film

Great, another “mystery” movie from JJ Abrams that will be spoiled in no time. This guy does know the internet is a thing, right? Sony Pictures is putting the finishing touches on a deal for an untitled top secret project that JJ Abrams will produce through his Bad Robot banner, reports Deadline. This little mystery film from Abrams will give Chris Alender the opportunity to direct his first feature film, so that’s cool. But what could it be!?

Per usual, Abrams and Bad Robot didn’t have much to say about this one because, you know, it’s a secret. However, there are some whispers that say the film has the same feel as CLOVERFIELD, involving aliens and what not. That's certainly not a whole hell of a lot to go on, but it's somthing… I guess. It's great to see Abrams taking time out of what must be a hectic schedule with all that STAR WARS nonsense to focus his attention on a guy like Chris Alender, who is getting his first shot at making a feature film.
