Sony buys James Wan’s new horror flick Insidious and sends it worldwide!

Check this mother out folks. Word is from Deadline that Sony Pictures has just offered a 7-figure deal, which is still being finalized, with James Wan and crew to send INSIDIOUS worldwide. Yes sir, an 800 screen release will first be in the talks before anything else gets official. 

Here’s a snippet from the press release: Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group is closing a deal for North American distribution rights to Insidious, the James Wan-directed thriller that premiered in the Midnight Madness program  Tuesday.

Sounds pretty solid. Whether you’re psyched about the film, or still disappointed from DEAD SILENCE, the truth is that this film is getting A LOT of buzz. Are you up for the trip with INSIDIOUS when it hits a theater near you?

Written by Leigh Whannell (SAW, DEAD SILENCE), INSIDIOUS centers on A family that looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further. The film stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, Lin Shaye, Josh Feldman, Angus Sampson, Ty Simpkins, Andrew Astor, J. LaRose, Ruben Pla and Phillip Fieldman.
