Sons of Anarchy fans, check out the sexy red-band trailer for Concussion starring Maggie Siff and Robin Weigert

In last week’s season premiere of SONS OF ANARCHY, actresses Robin Weigert and Maggie Siff had some dramatic back and forth regarding the titular motorcycle club and the imprisonment of certain characters. During that scene I noted that Weigert was looking pretty damn good, especially compared to her stint as Calamity Jane on DEADWOOD where she was anything but attractive. The intensity between the two was palpable but I am not one to venture into the realms of fan fiction. But, it looks like a filmmaker has done that for me.

The film CONCUSSION debuted a red-band trailer chock full of sex, nudity, and yes, Robin Weigert and Maggie Siff. The actresses portray a pair of suburban women who get involved with one another and the impact that relationship has on their lives. Yes, check out the trailer for the boob shots and the ladies kissing other ladies, but also pay attention to the plot of this indie drama. It actually looks really good.

After a blow to the head, Abby decides she can’t do it anymore. Her life just can’t be only about the house, the kids and the wife. She needs more: she needs to be Eleanor.

Weigert is a damn fine actress who deserves to get a lead role like this in much bigger films. Hopefully she is recognized for CONCUSSION and parlays that into many more projects. It is sometimes hard for films like this to get recognized beyond more than the prospect of lesbian sex scenes and I am sure CONCUSSION will suffer from SONS OF ANARCHY fans checking it out for that reason alone, but if the trailer is any indicator of how good the movie is, hopefully word of mouth will get it out there to audiences.

CONCUSSION starts playing in theaters and VOD on October 4th.
