There has been a lot of praise heaped on Scott Schirmer's coming-of-age horror tale FOUND and as someone who was fortunate enough to catch it at a festival a couple of years ago I can honestly say that every bit of high praise the film has garnered is well deserved. This was a film that stuck with me long after seeing it and I've been looking forward to catching it again. I won't have to wait very long.
Last week we learned that FOUND has been pegged for an August 15 theatrical, VOD, and iTunes release through XLrator’s Macabre genreand will finally be heading to DVD on September 23 (pre-order it HERE…do it!). I'll certainly be picking this one up on DVD myself as it is that rare indie film that deserves to be re-visited over and over again. And that ending…holy shit, that ending has haunted me.
Today we have a big batch of new stills from FOUND to share with ya. Check 'em out below. And don't forget to peep the trailer for FOUND right HERE.
Author Todd Rigney adapted the script with Schirmer from his own novel. It goes like this:
Marty is the ideal fifth grader. He gets good grades, listens to his teachers, and doesn’t start trouble in class. But a darkness is beginning to fall over Marty’s life. The kids at school won’t stop picking on him, his parents just don’t seem to understand him, and now Marty must grapple with a terrible secret that threatens to destroy life as he knows it — his big brother is a serial killer! Brotherly love is put to the ultimate test in this emotional coming-of-age story that descends into full-blown horror.
Gavin Brown and Ethan Philbeck star.
