By now you've probably pretty much made your mind up on whether or not you'll be giving ROBOCOP a chance when it hits theaters next year. We've seen several trailers and images from the film already and while there have been a lot of mixed reactions to what we've seen so far from the Jose Padilha-helmed remake/redo, I like to think that there is still a chance some of us will end up digging it more than we expect.
Today we have a few new images from ROBOCOP to share with ya. We get a decent look at Robo's arsenal as well as a pretty cool shot of the future of law enforcement on his badass motorcycle. Check 'em out below and let us know if you'll be giving ROBOCOP a shot in theaters in February.
In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.
Directed by Jose Padilha, ROBOCOP stars Joel Kinnaman as the title character, Gary Oldman as the scientist who creates ROBOCOP, and Samuel L. Jackson as media mogul Pat Novak. The film is eyeing a Feb. 12, 2014 release.
