Solos: Anne Hathaway, Anthony Mackie & more are adrift in new trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Amazon has unveiled an official and star-studded trailer for Solos, an upcoming anthology series with a unique twist on the concept of being quarantined.

Praised as a limited series that “explores the strange, beautiful, heartbreaking, hilarious, wondrous truths of what it means to be human,” per the official description, Solos stars Oscar winners Helen Mirren (The Queen, Red), Anne Hathaway (The Witches, Dark Knight Rises), and Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption, Lean on Me), along with Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow, Shame), Anthony Mackie (SynchronicThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Dan Stevens (Legion, Downton Abbey) and Constance Wu (Crazy Rich AsiansFresh Off the Boat).

Taking place in both the present and future, the series explores the stories and psyches of its eclectic cast while insisting that “even during our most seemingly isolated moments, in the most disparate of circumstances, we are all connected through the human experience.”

Told across seven episodes, Solos looks like the type of series that will feature deep character connections, life-affirming revelations, and future tech that would make Elon Musk rush to a whiteboard with new ideas. A person can learn a lot about themselves while quarantining alone, but it's our connections with others that bring us to new levels of understanding.

Solos will take to the skies on May 21 on Amazon Prime.
