Before he was Saul Goodman, he was Jimmy McGill, and before he was Jimmy McGill, he was Slippin’ Jimmy. While we wait for the second half of the final season of Better Call Saul, AMC has released a full episode of the animated prequel series, Slippin’ Jimmy, for free online. The six-episode series follows the juvenile adventures of young Jimmy McGill and his best friend, Marco Pasternak.
The episode of the Better Call Saul prequel finds young Jimmy and Marco sneaking out of their houses in the middle of the night in an attempt to get a Lady Labyrinth comic book from their local shop. Not exactly high-stakes, but it is rather adorable. Marco first popped up in the flesh, as played by Mel Rodriguez, in the first season of Better Call Saul. Slippin’ Jimmy isn’t the only Better Call Saul spinoff out there to keep you occupied while we wait for the main series to return. Rhea Seehorn reprises her role of Kim Wexler for Cooper’s Bar and the full season is available on YouTube.
The official synopsis for Slippin’ Jimmy:
When it’s after hours on the streets of Chicago, Jimmy and Marco don’t have to look for trouble — trouble finds them. Before Saul Goodman, a criminal lawyer, before Jimmy McGill, a lawyer you can trust, there was: Slippin’ Jimmy! He’s a sly young slickster trying to make it through Catholic school without landing himself and his best pal Marco in detention… again. Catch #SlippinJimmy, a new 6-part animated series from Better Call Saul writers Ariel Levine and Kathleen Williams-Foshee, now on AMC+.
All six episodes of Slippin’ Jimmy are now streaming on AMC+. The first half of Better Call Saul‘s sixth and final season wrapped up last week with one hell of an episode. The final six episodes will resume on July 11th. I’m not ready.
