Welcome back to another episode of Gone But Not Forgotten, which examines all of your favorite shows from back in the day, from big hits to cult sensations and more. Back in the early nineties, the Fox Network had a bit of a niche as the home for some of the coolest sci-fi shows of the era. The X-Files, Millennium, Space: Above & Beyond, M.A.N.T.I.S…they had loads of stuff. One of the best was the nineties Sliders TV show, which starred Jerry O’Connell as a student named Quinn Mallory who creates a “sliding” technology that allows him to slip to other dimensions. Joining him are his mentor, Professor Arturo (John Rhys Davies), his love interest, Wade (Sabrina Lloyd), and a washed-up soul singer, Rembrandt Brown (Cleavant Derricks).
As the show went on, there would be cast additions and changes, including Jerry’s brother, Charlie O’Connell joining the cast, along with the controversial addition of the gorgeous Kari Wuhrer, plus a network change, budget cuts, and more. Join us as we explore what went right and what went wrong during the show’s uneven five-season run.
