Once upon a time Alexander Sarsgard (“True Blood”) was one of the leading contenders to star in THOR. The part eventually went to Chris Hemsworth but the younger Sarsgard came in a close second. Well now at least the Sarsgard family has something to looking forward to when THOR comes out. Swedish news site Ystads Allehanda (via Empire Online) is reporting that Alexander’s father Stellan Skarsgard has signed on play a role in THOR. Who or what that role is remains to be seen but I’m sure it’s someone of Norse properties. Skarsgard joins the aforementioned Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Colm Feore and Jaimie Alexander in the film for Kenneth Branagh. Filming is scheduled to begin in January. Take your best guesses as to what the elder Skarsgard is doing in THOR below…
