Six seasons and a virtual table read; Community cast to reunite

They may not have quite gotten to six seasons and a movie, but the cast of community will be reuniting nonetheless for a virtual table read in order to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts. Variety has reported that Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong are all set to join the table read alongside series creator Dan Harmon, and not only that, but the table read will also include Donald Glover, who departed the series during its fifth season.

The episode in question will be Cooperative Polygraphy, the fourth episode of season five in which the study group gathered together following the funeral of Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase) and were grilled by Mr. Stone (Walton Goggins), the executor of Pierce's estate. The table read will be followed by a Q&A of fan questions, which fans can submit on social media using #AskCommunity and by tagging @CommunityTV. The table read and Q&A will be shown on Monday, May 18th, at 2pm PT on Sony Pictures TV's Community YouTube page. The two charities which the table read will benefit are José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods, both of which have been sending "fresh, nourishing meals to responders working on the frontlines and vulnerable communities across the country." Fans have the option to donate to the charities, but Sony Pictures Television will also be contributing the the charities on the behalf of the Community family.

Community recently began streaming on Netflix, which has led to increased interest in a Community movie, which would finally fulfill the "six seasons and a movie" promise. "There’s way more rumblings than there used to be," Joel McHale told Variety last month. "I think with the renewed interest, and I know the cast is interested, that it could happen."
