The cast of the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM has made one more addition as Variety has reported that Ian Kenny (SING STREET) has joined Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke in the upcoming STAR WARS spin-off. In the above image, you can find Ian Kenny on the far right.
As usual, the details of who Kenny might be playing in the film are being kept under wraps, but it's not hard to imagine him as another young scoundrel. According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM will pick up with Han Solo "when he was 18 years old and takes him through when he was 24…There were a few things that happened [that were] significant in Han Solo’s life, like acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookiee, that will happen in this film. But you’ll also discover how he got his name."
In addition to Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke, the rest of the cast includes Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson and Michael K. Williams. The flick is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a script by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan.
As for the future of the STAR WARS franchise, Bob Iger seems confident that the franchise will continue on for "another decade and a half" following the release of STAR WARS: EPISODE IX. If Disney & Lucasfilm keeps their schedule of releasing a STAR WARS film each and every year, we'll soon have more STAR WARS than we know what to do with.
The UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
