This is what I like to call “Bad News,” so brace yourselves. Apparently with all the bad publicity that GRINDHOUSE has gotten involving the poor box office turnout, the prospects of SIN CITY 2 have turned bleak. In an interview with Premiere magazine, Michael Madsen explained that SIN CITY 2 has been stuck on hold because of the GRINDHOUSE debacle. Madsen goes on to say in response to a question about SIN CITY 2: “They haven’t shot it yet. I don’t know if they ever will. I am not sure [about] the franchise. I think the Grindhouse thing didn’t kind of work out…”
But here is where the “Good News” portion of this article kicks into affect. Despite Madsen’s remarks, various casting websites have listings for SIN CITY 2, suggesting that the film is in the casting phase – which would mean it’s clearly not on hold.
So what do we believe? I don’t know, anything is possible in Hollywood, and I have a tough time believing that a money hungry studio would pass up the box office opportunity that presents itself with a SIN CITY 2.
