Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has found its Ava Lord

The role of femme fatale Ava Lord is vital to SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. I mean, she is the titular dame, after all. For a long time, Robert Rodriguez had Angelina Jolie lined up for the part, but after years of delays, she moved on to other projects. Still, you need to cast someone in the role who is sultry and sexual but also exudes a sharpness that makes you question your safety. SIN CITY creator Frank Miller described her as “every man’s most glorious dreams come true, she’s also every man’s darkest nightmares.”

Who better to fill those qualifications than the alluring Eva Green? The French actress has cemented those aforementioned qualities in movies such as DARK SHADOWS, THE DREAMERS, CRACKS, and CASINO ROYALE. She was also excellent in the short-lived Starz series CAMELOT as the villain Morgan. Those films also all showcase her damn fine body and show she is not afraid of showing a little nudity.

Miller and Rodriguez issued a statement saying “We’ve been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us.”

I think this is a great choice that just adds to the already amazing cast that includes Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple and Julia Garner.

SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR will open October 4, 2013.
