Yesterday, we told you about Michael Madsen voicing concerns that the planned SIN CITY sequel had been shitcanned in the wake of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’ double whammy exploitation filmgasm, GRINDHOUSE, doing less than stellar business at the box office. In order to settle the significant number of fanboy hearts that experienced near fatal arrhythmias on hearing this, SIN CITY co-director Frank Miller has chimed in with an appeasing “what you talking about, Willis??” response. According to the comic legend, the film’s still a go but there’s just been a couple of setbacks – namely, both him and Rodriguez are going ahead with other projects before they re-team to bring us some hyperstylized black and white goodness. Says Miller: “Sin City 2 is still likely to happen…just not right away. The script is written and Robert and I are raring to go, but it looks like I’m going to be doing The Spirit first and Robert’s going to be doing Barbarella first.” Disappointing, sure, but we can hold out a few months for a second round of Basin City’s particularly violent brand of street justice.
Sin City 2 NOT off?
