One thing most of you bring up whenever there's a news story involving Josh Trank's THE FANTASTIC FOUR is the fact that nothing official has been released yet for the film. Considering how much the internet already hates the upcoming film, you'd think Fox would at least give us an image to check out from the reboot.
So when might we be able to see the THE FANTASTIC FOUR footage? ComicBook.com recently asked screenwriter Simon Kinberg the same question, and although he does say they are working on it, he's not positive when the first footage from the film will be released.
We’re putting it together now, and one of the important things, because this Fantastic Four is a reboot, and is such a different tonality and vibe from those other films, we want to make sure that the first thing we put out really expresses the voice of the movie, and isn’t compromised by not having visual effects ready, or anything like that…I don’t actually know when it’s coming out, but I’ve seen all the footage from the movie. I was there for pretty much the whole shoot. It is a very different film from the others, and one that I think is very different from other superhero movies. It’s a very emotional, character-driven, more grounded film than I think people are anticipating.
The problem is many just don't like the idea of a grounded version of the superhero team, but some of the comments from THE FANTASTIC FOUR actors hasn't helped the situation either. It'll be interesting to see how fans react to the first footage from Josh Trank's new film, and while there are a few things about the project that bug me, I have my fingers crossed it'll still be a great comic book movie.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR opens on August 7, 2015.
