I’m not quite sure how this happened, but I often hear SILENT HILL brought up as either A) the way to do a video game movie right or B) the scourge of all non-Uwe Boll video game movies. I lean more toward camp A, as I did think for all its faults, the setting was suitably spooky.
The series might be no RESIDENT EVIL in terms of endless sequel potential, but it is at least getting one with SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D. The original cast is returning, joined by a few fresh faces (Carrie -Anne Moss? OK), and now we have our first plot description with some photos to go along with it. Yes, Pyramid Head does make a cameo.
“Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on the acclaimed survival horror videogame franchise by KONAMI and is the sequel to Hadida and Carmody’s earlier Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans. For years, Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.”
