When we heard about the 3D sequel to SILENT HILL last week, it seemed like it might be a sequel in name only, since none of the original cast was announced.
Fear not! (Well, not until you see the movie.) Following up the casting of new faces Adelaide Clemens (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE) and Kit Harington (HBO’s upcoming “Game of Thrones”) in SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D comes word that SILENT HILL actors Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean and Deborah Kara Unger will also be paying another visit to the perpetually misty town of terror.
The first SILENT HILL (based on Konami’s videogame series) featured Mitchell and Bean as parents desperately (and separately) searching for their daughter, who is lost in the titular otherworldly creeptown. Unger played a deranged resident whose own child was sacrificed by the lunatic townsfolk.
The sequel is currently in production in Toronto with Michael J. Bassett (SOLOMON KANE) directing — the snap above is from the new movie. The synopsis: “For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.”
