Siblings will be stalked by a masked killer in Joshua Giuliano’s River

Short filmmaker and Postmates delivery driver Joshua Giuliano is now set to make his feature directorial debut, as Tango Entertainment has acquired his spec script RIVER and will be producing the film with him at the helm.

Described as a "contained horror-thriller", RIVER will tell the story of

three siblings who, after being stranded in a boat on a country river, are stalked by a masked killer.

RIVER will also be produced by Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund through their company Eat the Cat. Antosca's name may be familiar to horror fans, as he wrote episodes of the Teen Wolf and Hannibal television shows, co-wrote THE FOREST, created the Syfy series Channel Zero, and recently teamed with Guillermo del Toro for ANTLERS, an adaptation of his short story The Quiet Boy.

Antosca is also known for writing a script for a FRIDAY THE 13TH movie that was never made, a script that could have made for an awesome entry in the F13 franchise if it had been polished up a bit.

While we didn't get to see Antosca's F13, RIVER's story of a masked killer stalking people down a river does sound very promising to this slasher fan.
