Today we received a heads-up that over at Russian site KINO-EXPRESS there are new high-res shots from the upcoming Danny Boyle flick SUNSHINE, which currently has it’s March release date the subject of rumours (read: it may slip). Scripted by Alex Garland (both he and Boyle worked on a little ditty called 28 DAYS LATER) and stars Rose Byrne, Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh.
The story takes place fifty years from now, where the sun is dying, and mankind is dying with it. Humanity’s last hope is a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star (the sun is a star, if you didn’t know). But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel. There is an accident, a fatal mistake, and a distress beacon from a spaceship that disappeared seven years earlier. Soon the crew is fighting not only for their lives, but their sanity.
