The fourth season of BBC's Sherlock hasn't even been written yet (groan) but a Sherlock Christmas special is on the way and some of us may even get the chance to see it on the big screen. During the Sherlock Comic-Con panel, series co-creator Steven Moffat made mention that the special will be getting a theatrical release in "select theaters" around the world. Unfortunately it's not a wide-release but some theaters are better than no theaters I suppose.
A first look at the special was also screened at the panel and you can check it out right below.
It may be under two minutes but the temporary transition to a Victorian setting already feels like something I'd love to see again; hopefully this becomes a Sherlock Christmas special tradition and gives Martin Freeman another chance to sport that rockin' stache. The fourth season of Sherlock isn't set to be filmed until early 2016 as Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are both very busy guys, but we can look forward to the Sherlock Christmas special arriving this Christmas.
