She-Hulk and Moon Knight land writers from Rick & Morty and Umbrella Academy

It's becoming clear that the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe won't just be told on the big-screen, as Marvel Studios has more than a few TV series in development for the Disney+ streaming service. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is already in production, with WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye set to follow, but we've also got Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk on the way as well.

Per THR, Marvel has now tapped writers for Moon Knight and She-Hulk. Jessica Gao, who won an emmy for her work on Rick & Morty's "Pickle Rick" episode, is set to develop and lead the writing team for She-Hulk, while Jeremy Slater, who developed and created Netflix's Umbrella Academy series, will develop and lead the writing team for Moon Knight. In addition to Rick & Morty, Gao is also known for her work on Silicon Valley, Take My Wife, and Corporate. As for Slater, he also created and developed The Exorcist in addition to having a hand in penning the screenplays for FANTASTIC FOUR and DEATH NOTE, although to be fair, much of what he wrote for those films didn't survive to the finished product, so we'll try not to hold it against him.

Here's a little more information on the two characters: Prior to becoming Moon Knight, Marc Spector was a former Marine and CIA agent before becoming a soldier-for-hire, and he amassed quite the fortune for himself over the years. However, when a job in Cairo brought him to a secret archaeological dig, Spector was left for dead by a former colleague who massacred the workers. After dragging himself through the sands towards the tomb of Konshu, the Egyptian moon god, Spector was placed beneath a statue of the god before his heart beat its last. Konshu then appeared before him in a vision and offered Spector a second chance at life if he would become the god's avatar on Earth and defend the innocent. As for She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters was a young woman who received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, who just so happens to be Bruce Banner. As a result of this transfusion of radioactive blood, Jennifer found that she could transform into a large, powerful green-skinned version of herself, but unlike her cousin, she's able to retain much of her intelligence and emotional control.
