Sharknado stars set to return for Sharknado 2: The Second One

Rejoice! Syfy's sequel to the best shark movie since JAWS will see the return of stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid in SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE as they reprise their roles as Fin and April. This time around they have to save the Big Apple from a freak storm of gilled demons, otherwise known as sharks, in what promises to be a sequel of jawesome proportions. Right now it's eyeing a July premiere on Syfy; hopefully I'll be able to find my speedo by then to celebrate properly.

The first film caught a lot of social media attention, something that the producers are hoping to replicate a second time around."We're thrilled to be able to bring back the talent that made 'Sharknado' a hit. Can lightning strike twice? I don't know, but it's a scientific fact that you're more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. This film will have lightning and sharks, so that's got to count for something," says Asylum COO Paul Bales. We can only hope…

In SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites – and only Fin and April can save the Big Apple.

Anthony Ferrante will once again direct from a screenplay by Thunder Levin, who also wrote the original SHARKNADO. Filming will begin in New York on February 13th.
