Production on Shane Black's THE PREDATOR got underway just last week, and Black has promised that the long awaited PREDATOR sequel will give us plenty of the red stuff, saying that "PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed…a lot." Although I found PREDATOR 2 and PREDATORS to be suitably entertaining, it feels as though we haven't yet had a true sequel to the John McTiernan original which successfully captured its grim tone. Hopefully Shane Black, who penned the script for THE PREDATOR along with Fred Dekker, will be able to make the galaxy's most fearsome hunter a force to be reckoned with once again.
The first cast photo of THE PREDATOR cast was released just last month and Shane Black took to Twitter today to share the following new photo of his cast of stone-cold killers, which includes Alfie Allen, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Boyd Holbrook and Trevante Rhodes. Click to embiggen, yo!
"Stone killers with serious acting chops — but which of them will be chopped… by THE PREDATOR? (See what I did there?)"
Any bets on which character will be the first to meet the pointy end of the Predator's blades? We still don't know too much about the plot of THE PREDATOR just yet, but Trevante Rhodes (MOONLIGHT) did spill a few small details about his character recently while speaking with Yahoo Movies. Rhodes will be playing a former Marine by the name of Nebraska Williams who gets roped into hunting the Predator by his good friend Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook). "We form a bit of a motley crew," said Rhodes, adding that the film will be everything you expect a Shane Black movie to be, just set in the world of the Predator.
THE PREDATOR is set for a February 9, 2018 release.
