About a year ago I watched all six seasons of SEX AND THE CITY in approximately one month, while at work. I’m not going to reveal what I do in order to maintain an air of mystery, but let’s just say I’m not an aeronautical engineer. I loved every second of what I saw, and for any guys out there who think the show is just for chicks and pricks, they’re mistaken.
Ever since the show went off the air in 2004, there’ve been musings on a possible SEX AND THE CITY movie, but negotiation issues and cast in-fighting was keeping this thing from launching. In particular, there was a reported disagreement between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, with Cattrall refusing to star for a salary less than Parker’s. Well now it appears that the hatchet has been proverbially burried and plans for a SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE are well underway. TV Guide is reporting that New Line is on the verge of brokering a deal with HBO to distribute the film with the series’ producer Michael Patrick King slated to direct. I doubt I’ll see this in theatres because I’m currently living a thug life, but as soon as this baby hits video stores, I’m grabbing it, taking it home, curling up with some Cosmopolitans and popped corn, and vibing out hard.
