Apple TV+ is sticking with Severance. It has been announced that the workplace thriller starring Adam Scott has been renewed for a second season, per Deadline.
The renewal news comes ahead of the season one finale, which will drop Friday, April 8, on Apple TV+. The series comes from creator and writer Dan Erickson and director and executive producer Ben Stiller. Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, had this to say about the renewal:
“Thanks to creator Dan Erickson, the brilliant Ben Stiller, and an incomparable cast and crew, ‘Severance’ has imagined an existence that‘s equal parts riveting and enthralling as viewers around the globe can’t get enough of these rich characters. We’re excited to go deeper into this wholly unique world and unpack more layers of Lumon in season two.”
Severance follows Mark (Adam Scott), an employee of Lumon Industries who agrees to a “severance” program in which his non-work memories are separated from his work memories. The show has received acclaim from critics, securing a stellar 98% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series also stars Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, and Christopher Walken.
