Seventh Son has a new trailer full of familiar fantasy; still coming in 2015

If you're into the whole brevity thing, take all the fantasy films you have seen in the last few years and cram them into one movie; congratulations, you just gave birth to SEVENTH SON. Before we start handing out the cigars though, I have to share with you the new international trailer, so prepare yourself. Jokes aside, this movie has been on the shelf so long (almost four years) that the curiosity alone is almost enough to get me to want to see this thing. The visual effects are as questionable as Jeff Bridges’ weird accent; and of course there is an apprentice. What more do you need?

Here’s the official synopsis:

In a time of enchantments when legends and magic collide, the sole remaining warrior of a mystical order (Oscar® winner Jeff Bridges) travels to find a prophesized hero born with incredible powers, the last Seventh Son (Ben Barnes).  Torn from his quiet life as a farmhand, the unlikely young hero embarks on a daring adventure with his battle-hardened mentor to vanquish a dark queen (Julianne Moore) and the army of supernatural assassins she has dispatched against their kingdom.

There is so much familiarity isn't there? I will say however that with all the bad luck this movie has had in term of a release, you almost want it to succeed don't you? I would never have said the same thing about Nicolas Cage’s THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE.

SEVENTH SON opens (we hope) February 6, 2015.
