Seth Rogen may join James Franco’s movie about the making of The Room

In 2003, an indie film called THE ROOM, written, produced, directed and starring a mysteriously wealthy social misfit named Tommy Wiseau, made its disastrous debut. Ten years later, it’s an international cult phenomenon whose legions of fans attend screenings featuring costumes, audience rituals, merchandising, and thousands of plastic spoons. The entire filmmaking process was told in the book "The Disaster Artist," written by Greg Sestero, Tommy’s co-star.

James Franco optioned the book and is now about to direct and star in it as the enigmatic Wiseau, with his brother Dave Franco taking on the role of Sestero. If that doesn't sound like a must-see already, producing partner Seth Rogen is also in talks to join the film in an undisclosed role. Taking into account that the screenplay was penned by THE FAULT IN OUR STARS writers Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, you have one very odd-sounding flick in the works.

For those of you who have seen THE ROOM, you know first-hand how hilariously awful it is. I love whenever Rogen and Franco team up and I'm hoping they play this one pretty straightforward. I mean, the flick is hilarious as is. I haven't read the book, but I can't imagine that the story fails to entertain. Any chance theaters could run a double feature of this and the actual movie?
