Seth Rogen to star in, write & direct Hollywood show business comedy series for Apple TV

Seth Rogen, TV series, Apple TV

Deadline has reported that Seth Rogen will star, co-write, direct, and executive produce a new TV series for Apple TV+ revolving around show business in Hollywood.

With a straight-to-series order from Apple TV+, the untitled project is set to be written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg alongside Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory of HBO’s Veep. Rogen will also direct the series with Goldberg, which is “about a legacy Hollywood movie studio trying to survive in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and commerce to live together.” Seth Rogen is no stranger to the small-screen. The actor starred alongside Lily James and Sebastian Stan in Pam & Tommy, Hulu’s limited-series that depicted “the turbulent three-year marriage between Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, with particular emphasis on the theft and illegal distribution of an infamous sex tape the couple recorded privately during their honeymoon.” Rogen played Rand Gauthier, the man who originally stole the sex tape.

Seth Rogen can currently be seen starring alongside Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, and Gabriel LaBelle in Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama, The Fabelmans. Our own Chris Bumbray caught the film when it debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year. “The Fabelmans is a departure for Spielberg in some ways, with him opting for a relaxed, episodic feel that feels unusual given his aesthetic,” Bumbray wrote in his review. “Some may complain the 150-minute movie is slow, but while deliberately paced, it’s never dull, and the onscreen images are absorbing.” Bumbray added that The Fabelmans is an “invaluable look at how one of the greatest artist of our time came to be.” You can check out the rest of Bumbray’s review right here. The Fabelmans was released in select theaters several days ago, but will open wide on November 23rd.
