Seth Meyers has had quite the successful career. After humble beginnings in the Northwestern University improv sketch group Mee-Ow Show, Meyers would eventually join SNL in 2001 eventually becoming co-head writer five years later. Meyers has also appeared in small film roles, most recently in this year's LATE NIGHT starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling. (You can read Chris Bumbray's review here.) However, Meyers is probably best known as the host of Late Night on NBC, a position he's held for six years now. Well you can now add Netflix Special to Meyers list of achievements.
Earlier this morning Netflix dropped the trailer for Meyers' upcoming standup special Lobby Baby. In the trailer, Seth berates a group of children with his own action figure ("Now with legs!) and informs them that dinosaurs are extinct. While the trailer itself doesn't show Meyers doing any actual standup, that's pretty much par for the course with promotional trailers like this one. If you recall, the initial promo for Dave Chappelle's last special just showed the comedian walking through a desert while Morgan Freeman narrated.
Regardless, if this trailer is any indication, the special will no doubt include Meyers signature brand of self-deprecation, witty insults, and lampooning of political figures. The show will also mark Meyers' Netflix special debut.
