Servant season 3 trailer: M. Night Shyamalan series continues in January

The third season of the M. Night Shyamalan-executive produced series Servant is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on January 21, 2022, and in anticipation of the show’s return a trailer for Servant season 3 has been released online. You can check it out in the embed above.

As someone who has never watched a single episode of Servant, I have no idea what’s going in that trailer, but this does appear to be an interesting show. I’m not avoiding it for any reason, I just haven’t gotten around to watching it. I see everything Shyamalan does at some point, so I will be giving the show a try eventually.

A psychological thriller series created by Tony Basgallop, Servant centers on

a Philadelphia couple in mourning. An unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage, but also welcomes a mysterious force into their home. Following its suspenseful season one finale, the second season of Servant takes a supernatural turn. As Leanne returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed, a darker future for all lies ahead.

TV Line informs us that Servant season 3

picks up three months after the death of Aunt Josephine and the events of the Season 2 finale, and Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) is extra paranoid. The poor girl, who now seems well-ensconced in the Turner household, is having nightmares of her creepy “aunt” and the horrors she left behind in the Church of the Lesser Saints. Despite the family’s hopes for normalcy with their returned baby Jericho, it’s very clear that they’re not out of the woods just yet. Not even close.

Nell Tiger Free’s co-stars include Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, and Rupert Grint. Sunita Mani is joining the cast in season 3.

While Shyamalan once said that his dream version of Servant would have a total of 60 episodes, he has since lowered the count to “40 parts”. Each season of the show consists of 10 episodes, so the executive producer is hoping for one more season beyond this one.
