Sequel to Adam Sandler & Jennifer Aniston’s Murder Mystery is in the works

Murder Mystery, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Netflix

Adam Sandler obviously has a good thing going with Netflix, and the recent MURDER MYSTERY has been his most successful film for the streaming service. The film followed New York City cop Nick Spitz (Adam Sandler) and his wife Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) taking a trip to Europe where they found themselves invited to a party on the yacht of an elderly billionaire. When Quince was murdered, Nick and Audrey became the prime suspects and went on the run to clear their names.

Netflix seems to be down for more MURDER MYSTERY as THR has reported that a sequel is in the works. James Vanderbilt, who wrote the first film and is also known for ZODIAC, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, and WHITE HOUSE DOWN, is in negotiations to pen the script for the sequel. It's also expected that Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston will return as well, but there are no deals in place just yet as development is still in the early stages. Netflix rarely reveals just how many people view their movies, but they did announce that more than 30 million accounts watched MURDER MYSTERY in its first three days, making it the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix film. Adam Sandler's Netflix projects aren't exactly the best reviewed films out there, but there's clearly a big audience eager to gobble up the comedian's latest paid vacation. Are you down for more MURDER MYSTERY?
