Back in March we learned that Glenn Close would be joining Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine in the dystopian zombie thriller SHE WHO BRINGS GIFTS, the 2014 Brit List script that was adapted by MR Carey from his own novel, "The Girl With All The Gifts". Now Screen Daily is sharing that casting on the film has been completed, with 12 year old newcomer Sennia Nanua set to take the lead role.
Also joining the cast of the post apocalyptic zombie thriller are Anamaria Marinca (FURY) Fisayo Akinade (ORDINARY LIES), Anthony Welsh (STARRED UP) and Dominique Tipper (DMX).
Colm McCarthy ("Peaky Blinders", "Ripper Street") will make his feature directing debut with shooting set to begin on May 17.
SHE WHO BRINGS GIFTS concerns…
…a seemingly normal and very intelligent little girl who lives in an underground army bunker with other children her age. They are all experimental cases being examined by scientists to find a cure for a fungal spore that has infected the planet.
The novel has been hailed as a brilliant work that mixes the horror of zombies with complex and sympathetic characters, so this sounds like an intriguing project indeed. We'll be keeping an eye out for more news on this one.
