The last news we shared with you guys regarding director Neil Marshall's upcoming reboot of HELLBOY was when we let you know the new film will be "a real monster movie that’s dark and scary."
That news was awesome, but today's update is a little depressing. Turns out that original HELLBOY and HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY star Selma Blair recently told Cinema Blend that, while she is excited about seeing the reboot, ultimately the new movie breaks her heart.
Selma Blair on HELLBOY reboot:
God, you know, people are fans of Hellboy and also fans of Guillermo. So part of us, the ones that were so loyal to Guillermo, our hearts are broken that it didn't work out with the greatest third installment ever written that I wish I could play more than anything in the world. But I truly hope that Mike Mignola has his vision out there for the darker Hellboy come to light, and I'm sure he will, and David Harbour is excellent and everyone involved, but no my heart is broken.
I agree with Blair that it is sad we will never get to see Del Toro's HELLBOY 3. That said, I am excited to see what the reboot has in store for us so fingers crossed it lives up to the name. What do you think of the reboot thus far? Hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!
